Abstract

Tumbuhan sirih (Piper betle L.) sudah dikenal lama dan dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Masyarakat Indonesia sendiri telah menggunakan daun sirih dalam pengobatan tradisional yang salah satunya berefek menurunkan kolesterol. Penelitian ini dirancang untuk menyelidiki efek antihiperkolesterol daun sirih (Piper betle L.) terhadap kadar kolesterol darah pada tikus hiperkolesterol dan hiperkolesterol-diabetes. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua tahap yaitu uji pendahuluan dan uji lanjutan.
