Abstract
Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is a tuber crop with high nutritional value and significant potential for cultivation in Indonesia. However, potato production in the country often fluctuates, highlighting the need for improved varieties and appropriate fertilization strategies. One approach involves the use of Granola potato variety combined with organic fertilizer derived from Black Soldier Fly (BSF) frass, commonly known as kasgot. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different doses of kasgot on the growth and tuber yield of G1 seed potatoes (Granola variety). The experiment was conducted from August to November 2024 in a Green house located at Jorong Limo Suku, Nagari Sungai Pua, Sungai Pua District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province, at an altitude of approximately 1,200 meters above sea level. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used with four treatment levels (0, 300, 600, and 900 g/plant) and three replications, resulting in 12 experimental units and a total of 240 plants. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at a 5% significance level, followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) for significantly different results. The findings indicated that different doses of kasgot had no significant effect on plant height, number of shoots, stem diameter, root volume, number of tubers per plant, and tuber diameter. Similarly, kasgot application did not significantly influence fresh tuber weight per plant, fresh tuber weight per plot, or estimated yield per hectare.
