Abstract
Sepris Yonaldi. Techno-sociopreneurship model in local economic institutions at the Solok Radjo Multipurpose Producers Cooperative. Supervised by Melinda Noer, Yulia Hendri Yeni, and Nofialdi. This study aims to: 1) Explain why KPSU Solok Radjo is categorized as one of the local economic institutions. 2) Explain the contribution of techno-sociopreneurship in strengthening local economic institutions through an analysis of the influence of its factors on KPSU Solok Radjo's business in Nagari Air Dingin, Solok Regency. Qualitative methods are used to answer the first problem formulation, with data collection using a semi-structured interview approach. Quantitative methods are used to answer the second problem formulation, using a cross-sectional approach and sampling using a systematic sampling technique. This study presents important findings regarding the contribution of techno-sociopreneurship in strengthening local economic institutions, with the research object being the Solok Radjo Multipurpose Producer Cooperative (KPSU). This study shows that KPSU Solok Radjo is a local economic institution that successfully combines local cultural values with the use of technological innovation in cooperative business management. By making coffee as a core commodity, this cooperative is able to make a significant contribution to increasing the scale of cooperative businesses, expanding market networks, and developing institutional capacity that is adaptive to change. In particular, KPSU Solok Radjo has proven to be a local economic institution, viewed from the social and cultural network aspects. The integration of Minangkabau culture, such as mutual cooperation and consensus, with modern cooperative governance has made the KPSU an institution not only based on trust and social networks, but also capable of transforming into an institutional broker connecting farmers with market access, technology, training, and funding. Within the framework of New Institutional Economics, the KPSU's institutional position has reached an intermediary-mature stage, characterized by a stable system of values and formal rules, as well as measurable economic outcomes. The effectiveness of techno-sociopreneurship in this cooperative was measured using the Techno-Sociopreneurship Effectiveness Index (IET). The results indicate that technological innovation, leadership, and partnerships reached a "very strong" level, while creativity and business adaptability were at a "strong" level. This indicates that the success of KPSU depends not only on technological excellence but also on collaboration and the ability to adapt to social and market dynamics. However, the results of statistical testing using SEM-PLS yielded interesting findings that differ from common theoretical assumptions. One key finding is that innovation, long considered a key driver of institutional strengthening, has a direct and significant negative impact on the local economic institutions of the KPSU Solok Radjo. This finding suggests that in an immature institutional context, the adoption of innovation can actually lead to disruption and institutional misalignment. Innovation that is not supported by the readiness of human resources, technological infrastructure, and a robust institutional system has the potential to hinder institutional effectiveness. Another significant finding concerns the relationship between culture and techno-sociopreneurship. Unlike previous studies that positioned culture as the primary driver of entrepreneurship, this study found that culture does not directly contribute to techno-sociopreneurship. In fact, statistical test results indicate a significant negative relationship. This suggests that in certain contexts, local cultures that are not aligned with digital transformation and minimal public policy support can be obstacles to the development of techno-sociopreneurship. This study emphasizes that in the case of KPSU Solok Radjo, institutional transformation was driven more by social and technological innovations that then drove organizational cultural change, rather than the other way around. The final research model shows that techno-sociopreneurship plays a crucial role as a mediator between innovation, collaboration, and culture, contributing to the strengthening of local economic institutions. In this model, adopting the techno-sociopreneurship concept with a social and technological entrepreneurship approach enables cooperatives to achieve greater business scale. This model recommends that strategies for developing micro and small businesses based on local economic institutions should prioritize a techno-sociopreneurship approach to create sustainable synergy between social and technological aspects. By integrating three main pillars: collaboration, innovation, and culture within a techno-sociopreneurship framework, this model explains how cooperatives like KPSU Solok Radjo can grow into local economic institutions capable of scaling up their businesses. These findings are an important contribution to the development of agricultural entrepreneurship models in developing regions and reinforce the understanding that technological innovation will be effective if institutionalized socially and culturally through a techno-sociopreneurship framework. This research not only provides theoretical contributions in the development of the concept of techno-sociopreneurship, but also presents empirical evidence that can be used as a policy reference in encouraging the strengthening of local economic institutions in various regions based on agriculture and other superior commodities.
