Abstract

Harau valley nature reserve is important to local communities and local governments because of the environmental services provided by the region. Threats against the current already very worrying, this look with the practice of illegal logging, gambit plantations, rubber, coffee and taking of uncontrolled forest products by the community and the other activities, as well as the present boundary of the field between the obscurity of nature reserve and tourism park harau valley with the other uses area. This study used a survey methodology. To determine the economic value done with a few methods such as Market Price Method, Travel Cost Method, Contingen Valuation, Cost-Based Method. Research results showed actual general condition the nature reserve, Harau valley is located at an altitude between 400 to 800 meters above sea level, hilly (wavy), ramps and there are steep cliffs and there are 4 river, Batang Simotakama, Batang Air putih, Batang Air Tiris and Batang HaraxL Harau valley access bordering the country road of Payakumbuh-Pekanbaru. The flora and fauna found in Harau valley there are 80 kinds of plants (34%) and 40 kinds of flowers is conserved or sold by the public, while the fauna consists of 22 species of mammals (9%), 55 species of birfs (23%), 19 species of reptiles (8%), 25 species of amphibians (10%), 10 species of fish (4%) and insect consists of 33 8j)ecies of butterfly (14%). It contains the categories of land cover in the form of dry land secondary forests. Total economic value (NET) Harau valley nature reserve and tourism park retrieved result is Rp.l 18.967.569.730,- per year. With the highest value is the value of ecotourism Rp.l 14.354.210.445,- (96,17%), the high value of ecotourism is inseparable from the tourist attraction because of the uniqueness of Harau valley, good scenery, waterfalls, cliffs, biodiversity and forest vegetation cover is still awake. The NET value of Harau valley above when coupled with socio-economic activities of the community then it will get greater value Rp. 118.967.569.730,- + Rp.3.155.000.000,- = Rp.l22.122.569.730,- per year. The value of social economy community around the area of Harau valley is the impact of both government and private investment.
