Abstract

Oil palm is one of the vegetable oil-producing plants. The main products produced are Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Kernel Palm Oil (KPO). The need for vegetable oil continues to increase due to increasing population growth leading to intense competition in the oil palm plantation business. Oil quality is a determining factor for product success in the market. Oil quality can be seen from the yield value obtained. The yield is the amount of oil obtained from processing a product. Dharmasraya is one of the areas that have a large potential of oil palm plantations in the province of West Sumatera. This study aims to describe the factors that influence the yield and to see the yield of small holder oil palm in the Dharmasraya Regency. This study used a survey method with purposive sampling at the Lubuk Karya Village Coorperative and Kampung Surau Village Coorperative. The results showed that the factor that influenced the yield in Dharmasraya District were the management of technical culture in the form of fertilization and pruning. The yield of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) from Lubuk Karya Village Coorperative and Kampung Surau Village Coorperative was 19.44% and 17.17%, respectively. The yield of kernel palm oil fruit core (KPO) from Lubuk Karya Village Coorperative dan Kampung Surau Village Coorperative was 4.50% and 4.42%. This level of production is considered to does not meet the production standars of the Tenera variety. Keyword : Rendemen, Palm Oil, CPO, KPO.
