Abstract

Water spring in Sungai Tarab District, Tanah Datar Regency are used by people in the village to be sourced of drinking water. The well water is one source of drinking water is often the intermediary harmful pathogenic microorganisms. Coliform bacteria which its indicator of water quality pollution. These bacteria can be transmitted through contaminated water. The study aims to knowed bacteriological's quality of the drinking water from in Sungai Tarab District, Tanah Datar Regency. The method of this study was descriptive qualitative, analysis of water quality by the method of Most Probable Number (MPN). The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The bacterological test had been collecting from 7 drinking water by tap water that patch in distribution tub. The result showed of the drinking water from in Sungai Tarab District, Tanah Datar Regency that 100% sample contaminated by Coliform and 50% sample had positif result for containing Escherichia coli. Based on a sample of data, we can conclude that some sources of drinking water did not fulfill the standart for health that had been established by Department of Health of Republic of Indonesia in "Permenkes" number: 492/MENKES /PER/IV/2010.
