Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of domestic cocoa production, world cocoa prices, inflation, and domestic cocoa prices on Indonesian cocoa exports to international markets, especially to Malaysia, India, and the United States years 1990 to 2023. This study uses a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis to evaluate the relationship between these economic variables. The data used in this study were obtained from secondary sources such as BPS, UN Comtrade, the World Bank, and ICCO. The results of the study indicate that domestic cocoa production has a positive and significant effect on Malaysian and United States exports, while India has no effect. World cocoa prices significantly and positively affect the volume of Indonesian cocoa exports to Malaysia, while India and the United States have no significant effect. Inflation does not affect Indonesian cocoa exports to Malaysia and India, but has a positive and significant effect on the United States. Domestic cocoa prices have a significant and negative effect on Indonesian cocoa exports to Malaysia and the United States, while India has a positive and significant effect. This study concludes that increasing domestic cocoa production and implementing a competitive pricing strategy are very important to increase Indonesian cocoa exports. Furthermore, stable government policies are needed to control inflation and support cocoa farmers to ensure sustainable export growth.
