Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effect of supplementation with processed rejected salted fish meal (TIAAO) in a rice straw ammoniated-based diet for Bali cattle on the intake of organic matter (OM), crude protein (CP), crude fiber (CF), crude fat (EE), and crude fat digestibility (EE digestibility). The design was used in this study was a 3x3 Latin Square Design (LSD) with 3 periods, where the treatment rations were: R1 (25% ammoniated rice straw + 75% concentrate + 3% TIAAO), R2 (25% ammoniated rice straw + 75% concentrate + 4% TIAAO), and R3 (25% ammoniated rice straw + 75% concentrate + 5% TIAAO). The results were showed that supplementation with rejected salted fish meal was had no significant effect on OM and CF intake (P>0.05), but had a significant effect (P<0.05) on CP, EE, and EE digestibility. The average OM intake was ranged from 3.340 to 3.458 kg/head/day, the average CP intake was ranged from 0.502 to 0.559 kg/head/day, the average CF intake was ranged from 0.684 to 0.710 kg/head/day, the average EE intake was ranged from 0.107 to 0.112 kg/head/day, and the EE digestibility was ranged from 89.79% to 96.82%. Based on the data obtained from the study, it is concluded that the administration of 5% processed rejected salted fish meal is better compared to 3% and 4% dosages.
