Abstract
The research aims to examine whether the composition of third party funds such as demand deposit, saving deposit, and time deposit can influence the profitability of Regional Development Bank in Indonesia that measured by the ratio of Return on Asset (ROA). The type of this research is an empirical research in form of hypothesis testing by using causality method specifically by measuring the influence of independent variables. The population of this research is Regional Development Bank in Indonesia. The sample selection based on predetermined criteria, they are Regional Development Bank in Indonesia that standing and issuing annual reports between 2011- 2013. The method of analysis used is multiple regression analysis. The result shows that demand deposit, saving deposit and time deposit have positive correlation on the magnitude of profitability. The result also shows that an increase or decrease in demand deposit, saving deposit and time deposit during period 2011 – 2013 have significant influence on profitability. Demand deposit has higher influence on profitability because it has the lowest interest rate if compared to saving deposit and time deposit. Based on the result, it is suggested for the bank, if it wants to improve its profitability, demand deposit should have greater proportion of third party fund and for the next researcher is expected to do the research by using other funding sources to get more varied result.
