Abstract

Aquilaria malaccensis is a karas tree that produces agarwood, a Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) with high economic value due to its fragrant resin. However, the production of agarwood in Indonesia decreased from 2018 to 2019. This study investigates the application of Yomari® liquid organic fertilizer (POC) and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (FMA) Gigaspora sp. on the growth of Aquilaria malaccensis seedlings in ex-gold mining planting media. The experiment was conducted in Bandar Buat, Lubuk Kilangan District, Padang City, and the Plant Physiology Laboratory at Andalas University. A factorial experiment was designed using a completely randomized design withs two factors. The first factor was the application of POC Yomari® with four treatment levels: 0 ml/L, 1 ml/L, 2 ml/L, and 3 ml/L. The second factor was the application of FMA Gigaspora sp. with three treatment levels: 15 grams, 30 grams and 45 grams. The observed data were analyzed using the F-test, and if the calculated F-value was greater than the F-table value, the analysis was continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% significance level. The results showed an interaction between the doses of POC Yomari® and FMA Gigaspora sp. on the growth of Aquilaria malaccensis seedlings. Specifically, the dose of 0 ml/L POC Yomari® and 45 grams of FMA Gigaspora sp. significantly affected the number of shoots and leaves.
