Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat dan mengetahui pengaruh pemberian biochar arang sekam padi terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kakao (Theobroma cacao L). Penelitian ini menggunakan bibit kakao varietas BL 50 yang berumur 21 hari. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di kebun percobaan Jurusan Agroekoteknologi, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Andalas pada bulan September 2018 – Februari 2019. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan yang masing-masing terdiri dari 2 unit percobaan tanaman. Perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu (0, 150, 200, 250, 300 gram biochar arang sekam padi. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, panjang daun, lebar daun, jumlah helaian daun, diameter batang, dan rasio tajuk akar tanaman kakao. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam taraf 5 % bila berbeda nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut dengan menggunakan DNMRT. pemberian biochar arang sekam padi tidak berpengaruh (P>0.05) terhadap tinggi tanaman, namun memberikan pengaruh P<0.01) terhadap panjang daun, lebar daun, jumlah helaian daun dan diameter batang. Kata kunci : arang sekam, kakao, klon BL 50, pembibitan, pertumbuahan The purpose of this study was to see and determine the effect of giving rice husk charcoal biochar to the growth of cacao seedlings (Theobroma cacao L). This study used the BL 50 variety of cacao seedlings aged 21 days. This research has been carried out in the experimental garden of the Agroecotechnology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University in September 2018 - February 2019. This research was conducted with 5 treatments and 5 replications, each of which consisted of 2 units of plant experiments. The treatments used were (0, 150, 200, 250, 300 grams of rice husk biochar charcoal. Parameters observed were plant height, leaf length, leaf width, number of leaf strands, stem diameter, and root canopy ratio of cocoa plants. Data obtained analyzed with a variance of 5% level if significantly different followed by further testing using DNMRT, the administration of rice husk charcoal biochar has no effect (P> 0.05) on plant height, but gives an effect of P <0.01) on leaf length, leaf width, number of leaf strands and stem diameter.
