Abstract
The research was conducted in the Ombilin power generation sector supplying electricity in Sumatra. The production process at the stone selection workstation on the belt conveyor involves workers standing without using aids for 3 to 4 hours during loading, leading to fatigue. This activity potentially poses injury risks to workers. Work related fatigue can cause discomfort and increase errors, thereby increasing the risk of workplace accidents. These conditions arise due to uncomfortable working postures and repetitive task durations. Worker complaints were identified using the Nordic Body Map questionnaire (NBM), followed by posture assessment using the OWAS method. The NBM revealed muscle complaints ranging from slight discomfort to severe pain. The NBM results indicate ergonomic risks with varying complaint levels among workers. Posture assessment using the OWAS method identified areas requiring improvement, proposing the design of an assistive tool (prototype) to mitigate these issues.
