Abstract
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is the 5^th most common cancer in Indonesia which is related to Epstein-Barr Virus infection. The neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and lymphocyte monocyte ratio (LMR) are inflammatory biomarkers that can represent the inflammatory response and thus describe cancer progression. Clinical staging is also used to determine cancer progression. This study aims to determine the relationship between NLR, PLR, and LMR with the clinical stage of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. This study used a cross-sectional research design using patient medical record data at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang. Sampling was carried out using consecutive sampling technique. There were 64 samples used in this study. The statistical that used in this study was the chi-square test. The results of this study showed that NPC cases occurred more frequently in men (65.6%), in the age group 25–49 years and were diagnosed at stage IVA. The results of routine blood tests were in the normal range, namely neutrophils (51.5%), lymphocytes (76.9%), monocytes (57.8%), and platelets (54.7%). The values of NLR, PLR, and LMR have increased, namely RNL (85.9%), RPL (68.8%), and RLM (50%). The results of the Chi-square test showed that there was no relationship between RNL (p>0.05), RPL(p>0.05), and RLM (p>0.05) with clinical stage. From this study, it can be concluded that there was no significant relationship between RNL, RPL and RLM with the clinical stage of NPC at Dr. RSUP. M. Djamil Padang.
