Abstract

The Sigaluik Forest in the Rantih Tourism area of Sawahlunto City, West Sumatra has the potential to store carbon stock at tree level. This research area has a diverse tree diversity, characterized by the discovery of 26 tree families totaling 50 species and 125 individuals. This research aims to determine biomass and carbon stock at tree level in the Sigaluik Forest in the Rantih Tourism Area, Sawahlunto City, West Sumatra Province. This research was conducted from June – October 2023. The method used in this research was purposive sampling by making a plot measuring 10 x 10 meters continuously from left to right there are 25 plots. The total biomass value is 134.68 ton/ha with the highest biomass value found in the species Goniothalamus giganteus amounted to 18.29 ton/ha, while the lowest biomass value was found in the species Archidendron ellipticum named only 0.18 ton/ha. The total carbon stock value is 63.30 ton/ha with the largest carbon stock value found in the species Goniothalamus giganteus amounted to 8.60 ton/ha, while the lowest carbon stock value was found in the species Archidendron ellipicum amounting to 0.08 ton/ha. Total value of CO2 uptake namely 988.57 ton/ha, the largest value found in the species Goniothalamus giganteus amounting to 134.29 ton/ha and Archidendron ellipticum as the lowest contributor to absorption with a value of 0.002 ton/ha.
