Abstract

To lower population growth, technological advances have also improved the effectiveness of contraceptives to prevent pregnancy. In addition to artificial contraceptives, recent research has also found a plant that has anti-fertility properties. Burahol has many benefits, one of which is believed to have an anti-fertility effect. This study will focus on the effect of ethanol extract of burahol fruit (Stelechocarpus burahol Hook F. & Thomson) on anti-implantation activity and uterine histology of mice. This research was conducted for 5 months from February 2023 to June 2023. This research will use an experimental method using a randomized block design with 5 treatments and 5 groups. In this study, ethanol extract of burahol fruit was used and given to pregnant rats at different doses on the first 6 days of pregnancy. The results of this study showed that oral treatment of Burahol fruit extract has no shown a visible impact on reducing the number of fetuses in the uterus, but significantly affected uterine wall thickness, uterine diameter, and uterine weight at 0-5 days of pregnancy.Further research needs to be done to find the ideal time to apply phytoestrogen in burahol fruit as anti-implantation and look at hormone levels in the blood to find the pathway of anti-implantation mechanism by phytoestrogen in burahol fruit.
