Abstract
Household food waste is the largest type of waste produced by Indonesian society, waste generation will increase in line with increasing population growth. One form of processing household food waste is composting. This study aims to analyze the results of composting household food waste with MOL from tuna fish waste, MOL from bamboo shoot waste, and EM4 using the Takakura method and identifying the dominant bacteria in MOL and the dominant bacteria in composting. Composting consists of five variations with duplo treatment, namely, variation A MOL of tuna fish waste, variation B MOL of bamboo shoot waste, variation C MOL of a mixture of tuna fish waste and bamboo shoot waste, variation D of EM4 activator, and variation E without the addition of activator. The research results showed that maturity tests (pH, temperature, color, texture, odor, and composting time) and quality tests included physical elements (water content, pH, temperature, color, texture, odor) and macro elements (C-Organic, Nitrogen, C/N ratio, P2O5, and K2O) have met compost standards according to SNI 19-7030-2004. Based on the scoring method, the MOL results for animal waste have a higher score than the MOL for vegetable waste. The scoring results of the maturity, quality, and quantity analysis showed that the best variation was variation C with the fastest composting time, namely 11 days. The results of the identification of the dominant bacteria that play a role in MOL and composting are Bacillus sp bacteria which are organic material degrading bacteria.
