Abstract

Jagung adalah salah satu jenis tanaman pangan yang paling strategis dan merupakan komoditas penting kedua setelah padi. Meskipun selalu terjadi peningkatan produksi pada jagung, namun kebutuhan jagung di Indonesia terus meningkat. Dalam budidaya jagung, komponen teknologi pengaturan jarak tanam dibutuhkan untuk mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal, salah satunya yaitu sistem tanam jajar legowo. Selain itu, penggunaan benih unggul juga merupakan salah satu kunci utama dalam upaya peningkatan produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi antara sistem tanam jajar legowo terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil dua varietas jagung hibrida, untuk menentukan sistem tanam jajar legowo dan varietas yang terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Muaralabuh, Kabupaten Solok Selatan pada bulan Juli sampai November 2018. Penelitian meggunakan Rancangan Faktorial yang disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan faktor pertama yaitu sistem tanam jajar legowo yang terdiri dari 3 taraf perlakuan (2:1, 3:1, 4:1), faktor kedua yaitu penggunaan varietas hibrida yang terdiri dari 2 taraf perlakuan (JH 27 dan BISI 18). Tidak ada interaksi antara sistem jarak tanam jajar legowo dengan varietas terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil, sistem tanam jajar legowo dan varietas jagung hibrida tidak memperlihatkan pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan namun pada hasil sistem tanam jajar legowo yang terbaik yaitu 4:1 dibandingkan 2:1 dan 3:1 sedangkan varietas yang memiliki hasil akhir tertinggi yaitu JH 27 sebesar 10,66 ton/ha. In maize cultivation, the technology component of planting spacing is needed to obtain maximum yield, one of which is the jajar legowo planting system. In addition, the use of superior seeds is also one of the main keys in order to increase yield. This study aims to determine the interaction between the jajar legowo planting system on the growth and yield of two hybrid corn varieties, to determine the jajar legowo planting system and the best varieties for corn growth and yield. This research was conducted in Muaralabuh, South Solok Regency from July to November 2018. The study used a Factorial Design arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the first factor, a jajar legowo planting system consisting of 3 levels of treatment (2: 1, 3: 1, 4: 1), the second factor is the use of hybrid varieties consisting of 2 levels of treatment (JH 27 and BISI 18). There was no interaction between the jajar legowo spacing system and the varieties on growth and yield, the jajar legowo planting system and hybrid maize varieties did not show any effect on growth but the best results of the jajar legowo planting system were 4: 1 compared to 2: 1 and 3: 1 while the varieties that have the highest final yield are JH 27 of 10.66 tons / ha.
