Abstract
Minyak atsiri daun jeruk nipis mempunyai sifat antimikroba karena mengandung senyawa yang dapatmenghambat pertumbuhan Candida albicanspenyebab kandidiasis rongga mulut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbandingan daya hambat minyak atsiri daun jeruk jeruk nipis terhadap pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicanspada konsentrasi 100%, 50%, 25%, 12,5%, dan 6,25%. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimental laboratorium. Minyak atsiri daun jeruk nipis dibuat dengan teknik destilasi uap dan etanol 96% sebagai kontrol perlakuan. Cakram direndam di dalam keenam larutan selama 15 menit, kemudian diletakkan pada mediaSabauroud Dekstrose Agaryang mengandung jamurCandida albicans, diinkubasi selama 48 jam. Daya hambat dihitung menggunakan jangka sorong. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minyak atsiri daun jeruk nipis konsentrasi 100% dan 50% mempunyai daya hambat yang sangat kuat dengan diameter rata-rata 30,2 mm, 25 mm dalam menghambat pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicans. Konsentrasi 25% dan 12,5% mempunyai daya hambat yang kuat dengan diameter rata-rata 19,8 mm, 13,4 mm. Konsentrasi 6,25% mempunyai daya hambat yang sedang dengan diameter rata-rata 9,05 mm. Kontrol perlakuan etanol 96% tidak mempunyai daya hambat terhadap pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicans. Uji statistik One Way ANOVAmenunjukkan adanya perbedaan bermakna antar semua kelompok perlakuan dengan p<0,005. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah minyak atsiri daun jeruk nipis mempunyai daya hambat terhadap pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicansdengan konsentrasi paling efektif adalah konsentrasi 100%. The purpose of this study is to determine inhibitory effect of essential oil from Citrus aurantifolia leaf with concentration 100%, 50%, 25%, 12,5%, and 6,25% toward the growth of Candida albicans. The research method used experimental laboratory. Essential oilwas made using steam destilation techniqueand etanol 96% as a control group. Disc was placed in six solution groups for 15minutes, then placed on Sabauroud Dekstrose Agar media containing Candida albicans, incubated for 48 hours. Measurement inhibitory effect was calculated using caliper. The result of this study showed that essential oil from Citrus aurantifolia with concentration 100% and 50% showed very strong inhibitory power with average inhibition zone is 30,2 mm, 25 mm toward Candida albicans growth. Concentration 25% and 12,5% showed strong inhibitory power with average inhibition zone is 19,8 mm, 13,4 mm. Concentration 6,25% showed moderate inhibitory power with average inhibition zone is 9,05 mm. Etanol 96% does not have inhibitory power ( 0 mm ) toward Candida albicans growth. One Way ANOVAtest showed significant different among all experimental group with p<0,005. The conclusion of this study is essential oil of Citrus aurantifolialeaf have inhibitory effect in the growth of Candida albicansfungus with the mosteffective concentration is 100%.
