Abstract

CHARACTERIZATION OF MORPHOLOGY OF PALM OIL PLANT (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) DUMPY VARIETY AND BREED ORIGIN VARIETY IN PEOPLE'S PLANTATION OF DHARMASRAYA DISTRICT Abstract This research was carried out at the Estake Crop Researl Center, Sitiung West Sumatra and the Sitiung people's plantation, Nagari Gunung Medan, Dharmasraya Regency. This research was carried out from October to November 2017. It aims to determine the morphological character of the oil palm plantations of the Dumpy variety at the Sitiung Plantation Plant Assessment Center and the morphological characteristics of the oil palm plantations, the seeds of sweeping at the Sitiung people's plantations. The method used is Systematic Rondom Sampling (Selected Random Design) and data in Descriptive form. Palm oil plants have different morphological characters The oil palm trunks of the Dumpy variety have a short and large trunked character, the trunk character in the palm as long as it is small and rises upwards. Dumpy has the color of 7GY yellow green leaves 3/2, the arrangement of facing leaves, and the length of the midrib is shorter. Palm from the saplings has leaf character, leaf color is 5GY green yellow 3/4. Dumpy has a flower length of 59.4 cm and a flower diameter (bud) of 27.0 cm. The flower length is 49.2 cm and the flower diameter is 15.2 cm. Dumpy has an average number of flowers of 2.08 female flowers and 1.00 average number in male flowers. Palm oil originates from the average number of female flowers 2.00 and the average number of male flowers is 0.06. Dumpy has a character with a color of 10R 4/8 Dumpy having fruit bunches with an average number of 9.02. has a large size of end, middle and pangakal fruit.
