Abstract

Isolation of volatile oil of temurui leaves oil (Murraya koenigii. L spreng) has been done by steam distillation method. The volatile oil was yellow color, stinging aroma which the rendement was 0,04 %. GCMS analysis of this volatile oil shown five of mayor compounds. that found such us alpha pinene 7.05 %, copaene 3.12 %, caryophyllene 62.72 % , alpha humulene 11.73 %, and caryophyllene oxide 3.03 %. This research of volatile oil was also determined specific grafity ( bj), optical rotation, and refractive index, and resulting specific grafity (bj) 0.8682 , the optical rotation +2.960 and refractive index 1.487. The result of antibacterial activity test indicates that temurui leaves oil active to bacterial Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
