Djamil Padang ABSTRAK Kecemasan diruang ICU terjadi akibat kurangnya informasi, tidak dapat mendampingi anggota keluarga yang sedang dirawat, takut kehilangan dan kematian anggota keluarga serta masalah biaya perawatan. Komunikasi terapeutik yang efektif merupakan cara yang dapat dimaksimalkan untuk mengatasi kecemasa\n tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara komunikasi terapeutik perawat dengan tingkat kecemasan keluarga di ruang ICU RSUP Dr. M Djamil Kota Padang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional dan menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan komunikasi terapeutik perawat dengan tingkat kecemasan keluarga pasien di ruang ICU RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh keluarga pasien yang di rawat diruang ICU RSUP Dr. M. Djamil dengan jumlah sampel 30 responden yang dipilih dengan tehnik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa komunikasi terapeutik perawat dengan kategori baik mencapai 19 responden (63,3%) dan komunikasi terapeutik perawat kurang baik sebanyak 11 responden (37,7%). Dari tingkat kecemasan didapatkan bahwa 18 responden (60%) mengalami kecemasan Ringan dan yang mengalami kecemasan Sedang yaitu 12 responden (40,0%). Hasil uji chi-square didapatkan nilai 0,05 (≤ α 0,05) artinya terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara komunikasi terapeutik dengan tingkat kecemasan keluarga pasien di ruang ICU RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang. Perawat diharapkan mampu menangani kecemasan keluarga agar tidak meningkat menjadi lebih berat dengan mererapkan komunikasi terapeutik yang efektif khususnya pada tahap oreientasi. Djamil Padang ABSTRACT The Intensive Care Unit is part of the Critical Care Unit that handles critical patients, patient terminal, patient disturbance of consciousness due to organ dysfunction that can lead to anxiety in the family. Effective therapeutic communication is a way that can be maximized to cope with the anxiety. This study aims to determine the relationship between therapeutic communication of Nurse with the family anxiety level in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) RSUP Dr. M Djamil Padang. This type of research is quantitative with correlational design and using cross sectional approach that aims to determine the relationship of therapeutic communication Nurse with the anxiety level of the patient's family in the ICU RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang. The population in this research is the whole family diruang hospitalized patients in ICU RSUP Dr. M. Djamil with a sample of 30 respondents selected Purpusive Sampling techniques. The results of this study showed that therapeutic communication nurse with both categories reached 19 respondents (63.3%) and poor therapeutic communication nurse as much as 11 respondents (37.7%). From the level of anxiety was found that 18 respondents (60%) had anxiety and anxiety Lightweight Medium namely 12 respondents (40.0%). Chi-Square test results obtained value of 0.05 (0.05 ≤ α) means that there is a significant relationship between therapeutic communication with the anxiety level of the patient's family in the ICU RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang. With the results of this study are expected nurses able to apply effective therapeutic communication to the maximum so as to minimize the anxiety level of the family.
