Abstract

Superficial fungal infections is the most skin disease frequently encountered in the world, both in healthy individuals as well as the socioeconomis good. Tinea cruris is a fungal infection that contained the groin, perineum and around the anus. Tinea cruris can be found throughout the world and the most in the tropics. The study aims to know the description of infection and risk factors in patients with tinea cruris in Polyclinic Dermatology Hospital Dr. M. Djamil Padang 2015. The study used descriptive method on 19 samples. The study was conducted through primary data collection in Polyclinic Dermatology Dr. M. Djamil Padang. This research conducted from July - September 2015. The population used was the whole patient tinea cruris in Polyclinic Dermatology Dr. M. Djamil Padang. The sample was population which matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The result showed the most of infection was anthropophilic as many 68. 4%. Risk factor of tinea cruris was 21 – 30 years old (26.3%), women (63.1%), occupation was student (47.3%), education level was college (36.8%), socialeconomi level was under (63.1%), personal hygyene was poor (57.8%). By knowing the source of infection and risk factors, the incidence can be decreased and further transmission can be prevented. Keyword : Tinea cruris, source of infection, risk factor.
