Abstract
Noni (Morinda citrifolia L.) leaves extract contains secondary metabolites which can be used as bioinsecticide to control German cockroaches. Research on testing the effectiveness of Noni leaves extract as a bioinsecticide on German cockroaches (Blattella germanica L.) (Blattodea: Blattellidae), had been held at the Animal Physiology Research Laboratory, Department of Biology, Andalas University, from March to July 2018. This research aims to prove the potential content of Noni leaves extract to make paralyzed/kill, repel and affect the amount of consumption of German cockroaches. This research used the experimental method with the stages of contact toxicity test, repellency test and the effect of Noni leaves extract on the amount of consumption of German cockroaches. The results showed that concentration of Noni leaves extract 20% had ability to kill the population of VCRU-WHO as much as 96-100% and effectively control the population of KRS-BDG as much as 86-98%. The repellency of both German cockroach populations on Noni leaves extract concentrations of 0.36% and 1.08% ranged from 82 - 96%. Noni leaves extract could increase the amount of food consumption in both of German cockroach populations. Keywords: bioinsecticide, Blattella germanica, Morinda citrifolia
