Abstract
Biodiesel development is an alternative that is being intensively to solved the problem of scarcity of fossil energy sources. Microalgae biomass has capable tosufficient the raw material sources for biodiesel production because of its various advantages. The type of microalga selected is Scenedesmus dimorphus. Scenedesmus dimorphus microalgae has cultured in medium fuel with the addition of phytohormones and antioxidants. The selected phytohormone was 6-Benzyl Amino Purin (BAP) and the selected antioxidant was vitamin C with various concentrations from each medium extracted using hexane, followed by transesterification process and analyzed by GC-MS to know which fatty acids it contained in Scenedesmus dimorphus microalgae. The results showed that BAP and vitamin C were able to increase the growth of Scenedesmus dimorphus microalgae. Medium C (BBM + BAP2mg/L) and F medium (BBM + vitamin C 8mg/L) provide optimum growth in Scenedesmus dimorphus microalgae. The results of the nile red test showed that Scenedesmus dimorphusmicroalgae on various variations of positive medium containing lipids. The highest percentage of lipid content was obtained on BBM medium which added BAP of 2mg/L concentration of 48.7%. The content of fatty acids from the Scenedesmus dimorphus microalgae lipids on medium C can be seen from the results of GC-MS. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that BAP and vitamin C can improve biomass and lipid content of Scenedesmus dimorphus microalgae.
