Abstract
This study discusses China's motives for providing foreign assistance to Angola. The Peaceful Development Policy has encouraged China to develop its assistance to third-party countries, one of which is Anggola. To see the Chinese motive for providing assistance, it will be analyzed using the concept of the Foreign Aid Motive by David Sogge. This concept explains the existence of humanitarian, economic and political motives in any foreign aid. Chinese motives for giving rocks to Anggola include the economic motive for increasing Chinese investment in Angola. Humanitarian motives where China shows its concern for poverty issues in Anggola, and also political motives from China to gain international recognition of its activities in Anggola.
