Abstract
The aimed of this research is to determine the effectiveness of BPHTB and PBB-P2 before and after becoming local taxes in Pekanbaru city in 2009-2014. The research has used descriptive quantitative research with comparative method. Data collection methods that used are documentary and literature. The analysis is done by comparing the level of effectiveness BPHTB and PBB-P2 before and after becoming local taxes. The results showed that the level of effectiveness of BPHTB and PBB-P2 after becoming local taxes better than before. This is particularly advantageous because it can improve the local revenue of Pekanbaru City.
