Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze how the role of sports in the process of peace building in North Korea-South Korea. Both countries involved various meetings or sporting events. In fact, the two countries agreed to form a unification flag used in international matches until 2006. The flag used to represent the unification of Korea. By using concept of Peace Building Through Sport, the research discovered how sport can be used as a tool in the process of peace building using five indicators of interaction, communication, cooperation, reconciliation and trust building. The research findings indicate how sport used by North Korea and South Korea. The method of this research is qualitative method with descriptive-analytic models.
