Abstract

This research was conducted at PT. Tidar Kerinci Agung, Dharmasraya from May to August 2017. A completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replicates was used. Each experimental unit consisted of 4 polybags containing individual oil palm seedlings. Seedlings were irrigated using water containing 0, 250, 300, 350, and 400 ml/L of a suspension of microorganisms obtained from a banana rhizome. The parameters observed were: seedling height, the number of leaves, stem diameter, the length of the leaf blade andleaf width. The essential elements in the suspension of microorganisms were also measured. The suspension of microorganisms had a significant effect on plant height, leaf numberand stem diameter but no effecct on leaf length and leaf width. The best dose of the suspension was 250 ml/L which gave better growth than the other treatments.
