Abstract
The research reviews the structure of the perifiton community in the suir river in the oil palm plantation area of PT. Tidar Kerinci Agung. This research has been conducted on Februari 2017. This research aims to know the composition and structure of perifiton community and analyzing the correlation between perifiton density and physical-chemical parameters on the suir river in oil palm plantation PT. Tidar Kerinci Agung. This research is carried out by survey method and location determination with purposive sampling. Determination of perifiton sampling station based on plantation activity of PT. Tidar Kerinci Agung. Samping technique at each station using stratified random sampling. As a result, it has been found the perifiton in 64 species consisting of seven classes, Bacillariophyceae (30 species), Chlorophyceae (19 species), Cyanophyceae (9 species), Dinophyceae (3 species), Euglenophyceae (1 species), Rhodophyceae (1 species), dan Xanthopyceae (1 species). The highest total perifiton density (276.375 ind/cm2) was found at station 3 on the riverbank and the lowest (92.625 ind.cm2) was found at station 4 (downstream river) in the middle of the river . The dominant perifiton types are Achnanthes sp, Amphora sp, Cymbella sp 1, Gomphonema sp, Gyrosigma sp, Navicula lanceolata, Navicula transitans, Surirella tenera, Synedra sp 1, Cylindrocapsa sp, Hydrodictyon reticulatum, Calothrix sp and Lyngbya sp 2. Index of diversity ranged from 1.14 - 2.46 with the highest diversity at station 4 (river downstream) in riverside area, and the lowest value was found at station 3 in riverside area. The equitability index ranged from 0.35 – 0.80, and the perifiton community similarity index ranged from 26.42-69.57%. The corrrelation index between density of perifiton with O2, nitrate, phosphate and ammonia was medium, with r value of 0.593, the determinant coefficient value is (R2) 0.352 and the regression equation is y = 105,335 + 23,502 O2 + 217,743 nitrate + 102,024 phosphate – 378,009 ammonia.
