Abstract
HAP (Hospital Acquired Pneumonia) was as pneumonia that occurs after a person has been hospitalized for 48 hours or more and does not include an infection that is still in an incubation period when the patient is admitted to the hospital. Reports of nosocomial infections in 2009-2012 by the Oregon Health Authority mention that nosocomial infections can lead to increased morbidity and mortality rates in hospitals. The purpose of this study was to determine the Characteristics of Hospital Patients Acquired Pneumonia in RSUP. Dr. M. Djamil Padang in 2015 - 2016. This research was done in the installation section of medical record of Dr. M. Djamil Padang used secondary data from hospital records of Hospital Acquired Pneumonia (HAP) patients from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2016 with the sample of 70 people. Characteristics of patients in this study were by age, sex, comorbid disease, duration of care, causative microorganisms, sensitivity test results and conformity of empirical antibiotics. The results showed that most of the HAP patients got hospitalized at RSUP M. Djamil in 2015 - 2016 were male and over 65 years old, with the most comorbid accompanied was Diabetes Mellitus (20%) and the second most was neoplasm (15 %). Patient with hospitality duration more than 7 days in RSUP dr. M. Djamil were 51 people as the percentage was 72,85%. Sensitivity test result for bacteria patterns in the hospital showed klepsiella spp as the most common cause of HAP (60%), the second was pseudomonas aureginosa (12,8%), and the last was staphylococcus aureus (25,7%). Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that most of the bacteria that cause HAP in patients were gram negative bacterias, and found that most of the empirical antibiotics used in the RSUP.
