Abstract
Research on hydroponic laboratory scale with wick system was done. Data analysis was performed with Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 5 treatments and 3 repetitions. To test the concentration of ammonia and phosphate, the sample solution was diluted by using aquadest, whereas for the sulfide, zinc and iron concentration test, samples were pretreated with wet destruction process using 65% HNO3. For ammonia and phosphate concentration were analyzed using UV / Vis spectrophotometer while analysis of sulfide, zinc and iron content using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). From the research which was done with the variation of time is obtained optimum time for the absorption of media at 30 days with hydroponics system. At this optimum time, laboratory hydroponics was made using varieties of media using lettuce (Lactuca sativa. L) as a plant that will help reduce levels of ammonia, phosphate, sulfide, zinc and iron. Ammonia analysis showed a good combination of plant media on rice husk charcoal ratio: coconut husk (50:50) with 79.14 mg / L concentration. While the analysis of phosphate and sulfide planting media is good on 100% rice husk with a concentration of 74.05 mg / L and 0.86 mg / L. Zn analysis on 100% coconut fiber with concentration of 0.04 mg / L and Fe in combination of rice husk charcoal medium: coconut husk with concentration 1.04 mg / L. From these data indicate that with the hydroponics system can reduce the concentration of ammonia, phosphate, sulfide, Zn, and Fe.
