Abstract
In this study, NaX zeolite was synthesized from coal fly ash PLTU Ombilin with hydrothermal method at temperature 60°C pH 14 using seawater as a solvent and CTA-Br template. NaX zeolite was characterized with Fourier Transform Infra Red (FT-IR), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)-EDS and has a characterictic of NaX zeolite. From analysis Surface Area Analizer (SAA) NaX zeolite resulted has a specific surface area 5.130 m2/g, average pore size 30.21 nm and total pore volume 0.07749 cm3/g. NaX zeolite was used as adsorben heavy metal ions (Cd2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+). From analysis isoterm adsorption, adsortiom process followed adsorption isotherm Langmuir with the maximum adsorption capacity (Qmax) for heavy metal ions Cd2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ were 333.33 mg/g, 322.58 mg/g and 86.21 mg/g respectively.
