Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya sebuah tradisi yang unik dalam sebuah masyarakat di Nagari Muaro Takung. Dimana masyarakat melakukan acara baralek terlebih dahulu baru setelah itu adanya akad nikah. Seiring berjalannya waktu adat perkawinan seperti itu masih tetap dipertahankan oleh masyarakat sekitar. Adapun permasalahan yang terdapat dalam penelitian ini adalah apa faktor yang melandasi masyarakat melakukan adat perkawinan baralek sebelum menikah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan faktor yang melandasi masyarakat melakukan baralek sebelum menikah dan mendeskripsikan fungsi adat perkawinan baralek sebelum menikah bagi kehidupan masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tipe deskriptif. Informan penelitian dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan dalam pengumpulan data digunakan teknik observasi dan wawancara mendalam. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Struktural Fungsional yang dipelopori oleh Talcot Parsons. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pelaksanaan adat perkawinan baralek sebelum menikah di Nagari Muaro Takung ini telah ada semenjak dahulu dan dilaksanakan secara turun temurun. Faktor-faktor yang melandasi masyarakat melakukan adat baralek sebelum menikah di Nagari Muaro Takung antara lain 1) Pengaruh Budaya Hindu : Adat dahulu, Syarak kudian 2) Baralek ba mamak, Nikah ba bapak 3) Interpretasi Baralek : anak daro, marapulai. Fungsi dari adat perkawinan baralek sebelum menikah bagi kehidupan masyarakat antara lain 1) Aktivitas Memasak dalam Baralek Fungsional terhadap Hubungan dalam Suku 2) Praktek Baralek Fungsional terhadap Kebesaran Mamak 3) Kehadiran Tamu dalam Baralek Fungsional terhadap Reputasi Keluarga . Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa dalam masyarakat Nagari Muaro Takung, mencerminkan adat di anggap lebih utama dari pada syarak. Oleh karenanya adat yang berlaku dalam masyarakat masih tetap ada dan dipertahankan sampai saat ini. Selain itu karena setiap aktivitas yang ada dalam pelaksanaan baralek tersebut juga memiliki fungsi terhadap sistem sosial yang ada dalam masyarakat secara umum. The research was distributed by the existence of a unique tradition in a society in Nagari Muaro Takung. Where do community events baralek beforehand only then the existence of the Covenant of marriage. As time passes the custom of marriage as it is still retained by the local community. As for the problems that are found in this research is informing the public what factors do the customary marriage baralek before getting married. The purpose of this study is to describe the factors informing the community doing baralek before marriage and describes the function of the baralek marriage before marrying for the life of the community. This research was conducted with the qualitative approach with descriptive type. Informant research selected by using purposive sampling techniques and data collection techniques used in observation and in-depth interviews. The theory used is the structural Functional theory pioneered by Parsons, Talcot. The study found that the implementation of customary marriage baralek before marrying in Nagari Muaro Takung has been there since the first and held hereditary. The factors informing the community doing custom baralek before marrying in Nagari Muaro Takung, among others 1) influence of Hindu culture: Customs the first, Syarak after that 2) Baralek ba Mamak, Married of father 3) Baralek Interpretation: anak daro and marapulai. The function of the baralek marriage before marrying for the life of the community, among others 1) cooking in Baralek Functional Activity of the relationship within the tribe 2) Functional Baralek Practices towards Greatness Mamak 3) in the presence of Functional Baralek against the reputation of the family. The conclusion from this study is that in society, reflects the custom of Nagari Muaro Takung considered more mainstream than syarak. Therefore the prevailing custom in society still remain and are preserved to this day. In addition because every activity that exists in the implementation of the baralek also have a function against the existing social system in society in General.
