Abstract
The inventory of birds in the area of PT. Tidar Kerinci Agung in West Sumatera and Jambi provinces had been conducted from 8 - 23 December 2015, of total 16 field days used for survey and direct observation with MacKinnon list technique. The result showed that there were observed 88 bird species; they belong to 71 genera, 41 families and 13 orders. Six birds with Near Threatened status (Ptilinopus jambu, Harpactes duvaucelii, Anthracoceros malayanus, Buceros rhinoceros and Eurylaimus ochromalus) and one with Vulnerable status (Leptoptilos javanicus) according to IUCN Red List were recorded. Sixteen species are listed as Appendix II according to CITES, i.e. Pernis ptilorhynchus, Elanus caerulaeus, Haliastur indus, Spilornis cheela, Ictinaetus malayensis, Hieraaetus kienerii, Spizaetus cirrhatus, Microhierax fringillarius, Loriculus galgulus, Tyto alba, Bubo sumateranus, Anorrhinus galeritus, Rhyticeros undulatus, Anthracoceros malayanus, Buceros rhinoceros and Gracula religiosa. Twenty species are protected by the legislations of the Republic of Indonesia; they are Leptoptilos javanicus, Pernis ptylorhynchus, Elanus caerulaeus, Haliastur indus, Spilornis cheela, Ictinaetus malayensis, Hieraaetus kienerii, Spizaetus cirrhatus, Microhierax fringillarius, Harpactes duvaucelii, Halcyon smyrnensis, Halcyon chloris, Anorrhinus galeritus, Rhyticeros undulatus, Anthracoceros malayanus, Buceros rhinoceros, Rhipidura javanica, Anthreptes malacensis, Arachnothera flavigaster and Gracula religiosa. Two species (Prinia familiaris and Dendrocitta occipitalis) are endemic to the territory of the Republic of Indonesia (Sumatera, Java, and Bali) , while eight species (Ardea purpurea, Hieraaetus kienerii, Hirundo rustica, Motacilla cinerea, Lanius tigrinus, Lanius cristatus, Muscicapa dauurica, and sturnus sturninus) are winter visitors.
