Abstract

Female body during pregnancy period required more iron to fulfil their nutrition and their fetus. If this requirement is not met, there will be anemia. Anemia which most often occurs in pregnant women is anemia due to iron deficiency. Irondeficiency anemia occurs due to lack of iron intake it is also occured due to chronic blood loss caused by worm infections. Various attempts have been made by the government to reduce the incidence of anemia among pregnant women is the one that iron supplementation notwithstanding these efforts have not been able to reduce the incidence of anemia among pregnancy women. This research aims to determine the relationship of nutritional status, Soil-transmitted helminth infections with ferritin and hemoglobin levels of pregnancy women. Research held on Puskesmas Lubuk Buaya. Desain of this study is cross sectional with 80 pregnancy women. The nutritional status was determined by measuring the Upper Arm Circumference, state helminth infections Soil Transmitted by the direct method, ferritin levels by ELISA method and hemoglobin concentration by the method Sianmethomeglobin. The statistical analysis used is Chi-square test significance level α = 0,05. The results showed there were significant relationship between nutritional status and ferritin levels (p = 0.108). There were a significant relationship between nutritional status and hemoglobin levels (p = 0.044). There is no relationship between infections Soil-transmitted helminths with ferritin levels (p = 0.057). There are relationship between infection Soil-transmitted helminths with hemoglobin levels (p = 0.013). Research conclusion that there are no relation between nutritional status and ferritin levels and soil-transmitted helminth infections with feiritin levels in the blood, and there were significant association between nutritional status and hemoglobin levels and Soil-transmitted helminth infections with hemoglobin levels of pregnant women. Keywords: Nutritional status, Soil-transmitted helminth infections, ferritin levels in the blood, hemoglobin levels in the blood.
