Abstract
METACOGNITION AND SELF EFFICACY AT SMP N 1 SIJUNJUNG STUDENT’S Asra Dewika, Fitria Rahmi, Yantri Maputra Psychology major, Medical Faculty, Andalas University ABSTRACT Self efficacy is student’s belief about their ability to accomplish task or problem. Students with high self efficacy, will be believe to resolve the problems. In fact, many student had low self efficacy.There were many thing that correlation with self efficacy, one of them was metacognition. Students with high metacognition will be confident to resolve problem with their ability.This research aimed to seen positive correlation of meatcognition with self efficacy students in Junior High School 1 Sijunjung. This research used correlational quantitative method. The measuring instrument used in this study was the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) by Schraw and Denisson (1994), consists of 52 items with the reliability is 0,958. Another scale was self efficacy scale by Suri (2015) by using Bandura theory and consists of 30 items with the realiability 0,869.Questionnaire was given to 227 subjects which were chosen by nonprobability sampling and saturated sampling type. Data were analyzed using correlation product moment pearson test. The result showed that there was significant positive correlation between metacognition and self efficacy in students Junior High School 1 Sijunjung. The result of analysis correlation showed that correlation value (r) is 0,397 with p 0,000. Keywords: Self efficacy, Metacognition, Student METAKOGNISI DAN SELF EFFICACY SISWA SMP N 1 SIJUNJUNG Asra Dewika, Fitria Rahmi, Yantri Maputra Program Studi Psikologi, Fakultas Kedokteran, Universitas Andalas ABSTRAK Self efficacy adalah keyakinan atau kepercayaan siswa mengenai kemampuan dirinya dalam menyelesaikan suatu tugas atau masalah. Individu dengan self efficacy tinggi, akan yakin mampu menyelesaikan berbagai persoalan. Kenyataannya banyak ditemukan siswa memiliki self efficacy yang rendah. Banyak hal yang berhubungan dengan self efficacy, salah satunya adalah metakognisi. Siswa dengan metakognisi tinggi akan lebih yakin menyelesaikan persoalan dengan kemampuan yang dimilikinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan positif antara metakognisi dengan self efficacy siswa SMP N 1 Sijunjung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional. Alat ukur yang digunakan yaitu skala Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) dan skala self efficacy. MAI diadaptasi dari Schraw dan Dennison (1994), terdiri dari 52 item dengan reliabilitas 0,958.Kemudian skala self efficacy diadaptasi dari Suri (2015), yang terdiri dari 30 item dengan reliabilitas 0,869. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian adalah siswa SMP N 1 Sijunjung sebanyak 227 subjek. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah nonprobability sampling, dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah uji korelasi product moment pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif signifikan antara metakognisi dengan self efficacy siswa SMP N 1 Sijunjung. Hal ini dibuktikan dari teknik uji korelasi product moment pearson menghasilkan nilai korelasi (r) sebesar 0,397 dengan p sebesar 0,000. Kata Kunci: Self efficacy, metakognisi, siswa
