Abstract

This research analyzes the experiences of minority Muslims in American society, described in Hena Khan's novels entitled Amina's Voice and Amina's Song. These two books highlight the culture of Muslim minorities in America. The first book aims to share the diverse experiences of Muslim minority in America, while the second book focuses on addressing the social challenges that Muslim minority encounter in America due to different background. The objective of this study is to raise public consciousness and understanding of the cultures of minority groups. This study uses the approach of multiculturalism to investigate the experiences of minority Muslims in both books. The method used to collect data is library research, which focuses on close reading of the text and using the qualitative method to present the results of observations from the two books on the topic of Muslim minority experiences. Based on the research conducted, the writer reveals three main findings. Firstly, Muslim minorities in America often face discrimination and negative experiences. However, numerous Americans still care about minority and are against any kind of racism and discrimination. Secondly, it is crucial to raise awareness of the idea of multiculturalism in society. The concept of multiculturalism emphasizes the importance of showing mutual respect and understanding towards people of all races and religions. It seeks to prevent any instances of racism or discrimination that may arise due to a lack of awareness and understanding of diversity in society. The final discovery is that Muslim minorities in America strive to promote their culture and religion to the broader community, hoping to increase understanding among diverse peoples and eliminate any acts of racism and discrimination in the future.
