Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of ESG performance, both simultaneously and partially, encompassing environmental, social, and governance performance, on the financial performance of companies in the industrial sector listed on the stock exchanges of ASEAN countries during the period 2017-2021. Data collection for this research utilizes the documentation method. Purposive sampling is employed as the sampling technique, involving 25 companies within the industrial sector listed on the stock exchanges of ASEAN countries. The findings of this study indicate that, on a partial basis, environmental performance does not significantly affect the financial performance of companies. Furthermore, this study also reveals that social performance has a negative influence on the financial performance of companies, whereas governance performance has a positive influence. Additionally, this research identifies that ESG performance, when considered collectively, has a moderate influence on the financial performance of companies.
