Abstract

KUD Sarasah, 2022, established a citronella oil production house in Aua Sarumpun, Rambatan Sub-District, Tanah Datar Regency. The citronella Yard, which supplies raw materials for this production house, is a marginal land with a slope of 200-600 at several locations. This is very difficult and has a high risk in carrying out harvesting activities. Therefore, it is necessary to design material handling in the harvesting process in this area. The methods used include Kano, QFD, HoQ, Morphological Chart, Screening, Scoring, and using SOLIDWORKS as a form of prototype to be made. The Kano method is used as a form of customer requirements and their weights. Then HoQ will be used to focus on the characteristics of the product to be developed. Morphological Chart is used as a tool for design development. Screening and scoring are applied as the final step in determining product design and specifications. In the final stage, the product prototype will be made using SolidWorks. The method selected through the screening and scoring stages will be made in the form of a prototype and detailed design. The prototype will be tested on several aspects so that it is feasible and comfortable for farmers to use. The prototype requires a 40rpm, 12V DC motor with a maximum torque of 16Nm. With the specifications of this motor, two batteries with a capacity of 5AH are necessary. Material Handling also requires a stake as a support, the stake needed to support the total weight is 3cm in diameter and 115cm in length. Next is the adjustment of the tool dimensions with anthropometry for the convenience of the workers. The price of making this material handling is around Rp 11,837,877including the price of the material and the price of manufacture.
