Abstract
The Women Inmate’s Acceptance of Corruption Case in Correctional Facility LembagaPemasyarakatanKlas IIA Muaro Padang Falah Farras Sadikanugraha1) Dwi Puspasari2)Kuswardani Susari Putri2) 1)Psychology student, Medical Faculty, Andalas University 2)Lecturer at Psychology Department, Medical Faculty, Andalas University ABSTRACT Women inmate of corruption case is a woman who has been convicted and received legal decisions related to corruption were eliminated upon some of their independence and receive correctional in order to become better individuals. Such correctional should be passed by the inmates are in correctional facility. Activity in correctional facility can provide psychological and social impact for inmates, especially women inmate. This studyaimed to describe the process of self-acceptance on women inmate of corruption case. This research used the qualitative approach to see the stages of the acceptance and the factors that affect the self-acceptance. Data were collected by interviews and observation. Sampling technique were using theory based/ operational construct sampling. Key informants were 3 women inmate of corruption case. The results of this study showed roughly the same pattern on each inmate through the process of self-acceptance, those are rejection, trying to accept, and acceptance. In accepting themself in prisons, some inmates were able to accept themself completely, but there are also prisoners who have not been able to accept themself completely. Self-acceptance is affected by social support that inmates receivedand the prison environment. Key words: Self-acceptance; inmate; woman; criminal; corruption; correctional facility.
