Abstract

Colorectal cancer is a cancer or malignancy in the large intestine. The incidence of colorectal cancer is always increasing every year. There are various types of malignancy that can occur in the colon and rectum. Although there are many types of malignancy that occur in the topography of the colon and rectum, the clinical manifestations that appear are similar from one type of malignancy to another. Because the clinical complaints are similar and the management differs from one patient to another in colorectal cancer patients, it is important to know the type of malignancy in colorectal topography and it’s cliniopathological characteristics. Age, sex, type of malignancy, topography and histopathology of colon cancer determine the prognosis. This study aims to identify the types of malignancy in colorectal topography and clinicopathological characteristics of colorectal cancer at the Anatomical Pathology Laboratory of Dr. M. Djamil Hospital in Padang, 2020 – 2022. The research was conducted using a descriptive observational method with total sampling technique from medical records. The sample includes all colorectal cancer patients from 2020 – 2022 who meet the inclusion criteria with a total sample of 196 samples. The results showed that most patients were female (51%), age group > 50 years (63,3%). The most common location for the colorectal cancer was the rectum (44,9%), the largest amount tumor size was >4 – 6 cm (34,7%), the most common type of malignancy was Adenocarcinoma NOS (75,5%). Based of the research, it can be concluded that the highest incidence of colorectal cancer at the Anatomical Pathology Laboratory of RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang in 2020 – 2022 are women aged over 50 years, with the type Adenocarcinoma NOS in the rectum. It is recommended to carry out early detection so that colorectal cancer can be overcome and recording data and patient must be complete so that the clinicopathological pictures of colorectal cancer can be determined in detail.
