Abstract

Pine (Pine Merkusii Jung et de Vriese) is a multi-purpose plant Tree Species (MPTS). Pine trees can be used to accelerate reforestation and rehabilitation of land, part of pine bark can be used as fuel and the ashes were used for fertilizer mixture. Besides, the advantages of pine trees are to produce latex that can be processed further and its will have a high economic value. This research was conducted in area of pine forests of CV. YPM Sungai Penuh City namely Aur Duri Village. This research was carried out for about 2 months from April until May 2016. The purpose of this study was to determine the socio-economic characteristics that affect income and how much were the income tappers pines in the Aur Duri Village Pondok Tinggi Subdistrict Sungai Penuh City. The method used in this study was a survey and sampling technique used was porpousive sampling. There are several characteristic of social and economic of pine latex tappers in the Aur Duri Village Pondok Tinggi Subdistrict Sungai Penuh City Jambi Province such as the age of the tapper were in productive age (100%), education background were Elementary School (59.26%), number of trees were intercepted by eavesdroppers which ranged between 700-890 stems / farmer tappers, the average age of the trees were tapped 39-45 years, a distance of farmhouses tapper with a forest were 2-3 km, the number of working hours per day were 6 hours, Total dependents tappers were 2-3 people and a land area covering were 2-3 hectares of pine leads / tapper. Income of Pine latex tappers were on average of Rp. 2.686.370 million / month, with the number of working days as many as 20 days in a month. Keywords: Pine Merkusii, income of pine latex tapper
