Abstract
Analisis filogenetik ikan Nemacheilus pfeifferae dari beberapa sungai di Sumatera Barat dan kerabat dekatnya berdasarkan gen sitokrom b telah dilaksanakan dari bulan Maret sampai Agustus 2016 di Laboratorium Genetika dan Biologi Sel, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Andalas, Padang. Amplifikasi DNA gen sitokrom b menggunakan teknik PCR. Jarak genetik antar populasi N. pfeifferae di Sumatera 0,4%-7,2% mengindikasikan adanya diferensiasi genetik pada populasi N. pfeifferae di Sumatera. N. pfeifferae bersifat monofiletik dengan N. binotatus dan N. ornatusi serta bersifat parafiletik dengan spesies lainnya.
