Abstract

Oil palm plantation development aims to eliminate poverty and underdevelopment, especially in rural areas, in addition, it also attention to equity. Plantation-based agricultural development in broad sense aims to improve the lives of the people, causing a change in the lifestyle of the people in the vicinity. From the other side of success development based agribusiness plantations of palm oil is expected to reducing income inequality between social groups and between regions. Activity palm plantations activities supported by factory palm oil of 146 units spread in various districts / cities in Riau Province. According to Susila (2000), the government's policy, especially in terms of trade will lead to distortions in the CPO market. It is also supported by Salvatore (1997), which states that the policy will cause the domestic price is much lower or higher than the price in the international market.
