Abstract
This study aims to determine the contribution and effectiveness of street lighting tax for local revenue to Padang city. The type of this research is a quantitative descriptive study using a primary data to determine the real condition of street lighting in Padang city and secondary data obtained from DPKA Padang city, data collection is done by observation, documentation, and literature. Analysis was performed by calculating the contribution rate and the effectiveness of street lighting tax revenue as a source of local revenue for fiscal year 2010-2014. The result of this research is show that street lighting tax is the most potential local tax and the contribution rate has decreased from year to year and the average of effectiveness has been reached on very effective level.
