Abstract

The phenomenon of nanoscale technology known as nanotechnology has become a new existence for many areas of science in recent years. Synthesis of silver nanoparticles as a part of the development of nanotechnology has been successfully carried out by chemical reduction method using bioreductor of gambier’s leaf extract. The process of biosynthetic conducted at various concentrations and temperatures showed that the best conditions for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles was AgNO3 concentration of 0.01 M and 25˚C of synthesis temperature. The use of 1% Dietanol amin (DEA) as a capping agent had produced silver nanoparticles with high colloidal stability. The result of colloidal is brownish with maximum absorbance of 2.002 a.u at λmax 408 nm. Silver nanoparticles which had been reduced the extract of gambier’s leaf was floured grayish color and shiny. The results of XRD displayed the same peak pattern obtained with standard silver metal. The Ag crystallite size for concentration of AgNO3 0.1 M was larger than AgNO3 0.01 M. The result of SEM showed that silver nanoparticles produced a collection of spherical and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) showed that particle size of Ag was about 59 nm from AgNO3 0.1 M, while about 22 nm of AgNO3 0.01 M. Keywords: Silver Nanoparticle, Bioreductor, Capping agent, UV-Vis, XRD, SEM, TEM.
