Abstract

This research presents the comparative analysis of paddy farming before and on the period of the implementation of a complete package model 2012 of an Integrated Farming Field School or Sekolah Lapang Pengelolaan Tanaman Terpadu (SLPTT). The data collection was obtained from March to May 2013. The objectives of this research are to describe and evaluate the implementation of SLPTT at farm level and to compare the level of production, farming costs, income, and profit of paddy farming before and on the period of the SLPTT implementation. The data collected are then analyzed using a descriptive quantitatif analysis. The primary data were taken from interview to the 30 sample farmer from185 farmer population, and the secondary data were obtained from relevant key informants of a complete package model of SLPTT. The result of this research showed that majority of farmers (90%) have done the agriculture of the rice based on the regulation of SLPTT. Some of them are still practicing the old practices of paddy cultivation, such as the use of new varietas (10%) and “sistem tanam jajar legowo” (3%). Therefore, in general the paddy farming of the SLPTT was not too different with the old practices done by the farmers. The only different between them is the practice of “sistem tanam jajar legowo” as a specific way of this SLPTT program. By implementing this SLPTT program the level of production have increased about 11.7% from before. Although the cost of production relatively increased as much of 12,93% from before, the average income and profit of this SLPTT have still increased as much of 5,95%^ and 18,66% from before. After did t-test at level signifikan 5%, got the significant difference of production, cost, revenue and profit after implementation SLPTT. Based on the these research results, farmers are expected to continue applying the cultivation techniques recommended in this SLPTT program, improving and refining the practices to achieve optimum production and profits .
