Abstract

In general, Sherlock Holmes is a story that tells about a famous, brilliant and eccentric person Sherlock Holmes and accompanied by his loyal best friend Dr. John Watson, a former army soldier. They shared a room in London on Baker Street 221b in Mrs Hudson‘s house and in that house they solved many cases together. The story background was in the Victorian era and Holmes job is consulting detective, which he said as the only one job in England. (A study in scarlet 17) Even he helped Scotland Yard the police department in London to solve the unsolved cases. In this story of course there is the antagonist character he is Professor James Moriarty. Even Holmes is not purely stand for the good side, he is considered as the law while Moriarty is considered as the criminal where he stands for the evil. Out of where side they were standing it cannot be denied that they were geniuses in both sides.
