Abstract

This research was conductedin Bayang sub district and Koto XI Tarusan Pesisir Selatan district of 13th June to 30th July 2013. The objective was to compare the succes rate of artificial insemination of Bali cattle in the Bayang sub district and Koto XI Tarusan Pesisir Selatan district. This research is useful to be able to be used as an input and evaluation for farmers and animal husbandry services in improving the ability of beef cattle as a basis for improving the aplication of artificial insemination (AI) and delevopment of science and technolgy. Bali cattles were inseminated in 2011 as 90 cattle in Bayang district and 86 cattle in Koto XI Tarusan Pesisir Selatan district. This research wiss used a survey method and purposive sampling data retrieval. Primary data obtained from a yellow card pregnancy test rusult of IB officers and interviews directly to farmers. Secondary data obtained from southern Pesisir Selatan district animal husbandry services and Veterinary Health Post (poskeswan) Bayang sub district and Koto XI Tarusan Sub District. Data were analyzed using Chis-square (X2) in both districts with the observed variables, CR, S/C and Calving Rate. Result of this research showel that conception rate (CR) of Bali cattle in Bayang Sub District Pesisir Selatan District in 2011 were 37,3% and 40,6% at Koto XI Tarusan sub district on in Pesisir Selatan is 2011 is 1,72 and in Koto XI Tarusan Pesisir Selatan 1.62. Calving Rate of Bali cattle in Bayang Sub District and Pesisisr Selatan in 2011 was 68% in Koto XI Tarusan district. Conclusion of this repale that conception rate and calving rate in Bayang sub-district and Koto XI Tarusan Sub District the results were no significantly diffrent (P>0,05).
