Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between the village development index and school participation rates for children aged 16-18 years in Riau Province from 2018-2021. Education is a long-term investment and requires a long process and enormous costs during higher education. The variables used in this research are School Participation Rate, Distribution of Education Funding (DEF), Distribution of Health Funding (DHF), Indonesian Conditional Cash Transfer Program (CCT), and Smart Indonesia Program (SIP). The research area is all districts of Riau Province which still have underdeveloped villages. The data used in this study are secondary data from documentaries uploaded by BPS Riau, BPS Indonesia, and the Village Development Index. This research method uses quantitative descriptive with panel regression and data processing using EViews Version 12 software. The results of this study found that the DEF and the SIP had a significant positive effect on school participation rates in all districts of Riau Province, but the DHF and CCT had no significant effect participation rates in all districts of Riau Province.
